June 28, 2022
Dear Family and Friends of St. Philip’s,
We want to inform you that we have identified 1 positive case of COVID-19 among those who were in attendance at the dinner dance on Friday, June 24th and at church on Sunday, June 26th, 2022. Please understand that the health and safety of our parishioners and their family and friends is our top priority. To reduce the spread and impact of COVID-19, we continue to follow guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the recommendations made by the Diocese of Florida.
With the help of the COVID Task Force at St. Philip’s, we are taking the following steps to ensure your safety:
- We recommend that you self-monitor your health for 3 days and then get tested for COVID-19
- If symptoms develop, self-isolate and seek medical attention if needed.
We encourage you to review the CDC website for information about COVID-19, including its symptoms, how it spreads, and actions you can take to protect your health: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
All of us at St. Philip’s understand that this is a serious situation. Additional information about coping with stress can be found on the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/managing-stress-anxiety.html.
We will continue to provide you with regular updates about this situation and will promptly notify you if we identify any additional positive COVID-19 cases. We know that this is an uncertain and difficult time, and we affirm that you are not alone in this journey. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid” (John 14:27, NRSV). Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you have; remember that you are in our prayers.
Sincerely,
Bishop Jay Lambert and the COVID Task Force
