John Floyd is now doing hospice at home. We are asking that you remember him in your prayers and his
family, as he clings to life.
We are continuing our appeal on behalf of our brethren in Liberia. So far we are encouraged by the response
of parishioners. Fr. Lewis, who has returned to Minnesota, has asked that we let everyone know that whatever
is donated, will go directly to the Bishop’s office in Monrovia.
Bishop Dorsey Henderson is scheduled to visit with us on Sunday, May 31, 2015 for Confirmation Exercises.
Those wishing to be confirmed, reaffirmed, or received, must contact the Rector as soon as possible.
Pledge envelopes are now available at the back of the church. You can collect yours on Sunday.
Planning for Lent
The rector has invited the Lenten Committee to assist with the planning of our observance this year. The
intention is to have speakers from both in and out of the parish. Look out for further details.
Sunday School/Christian Education
Our Sunday School/Christian Education program has resumed for all ages. The study text being used for the
adult class is, “Toxic Charity.” Come share in an informative discussion on what we are doing as a faith
community and all the church teaches, preaches, and practices. Meeting time is 9:0 a.m.
Invitation from St. Gabriel’s
St. Gabriel’s Mission has extended an invitation to us to join them for their Valentine Bash scheduled for
Saturday, February 14, 2015. Donation is $40.00 per person.
Absalom Jones Celebration
The Sidney B. Parker Chapter of Jacksonville is planning on observing Absalom Jones Day with a function to
be held at St. Gabriel’s parish hall on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. This will be a fund raising

we prepare to gather for prayer and the planning of our work in this part of God’s vineyard.
