Remaining in Prayer
Despite receiving word that Tyrone Gayle is out of hospital, we want to remain in prayer for him and all who we have been making special intercession for: Gwendolyn Witsell, Lurreta Blackshear, Steve Williams, Carlottra Guyton, and Terrell Davis. Also, please keep Dr. Roy Singleton and Jerry and Lois Iszard in your prayers.
Supplies Needed
We need supplies for our Thursday outreach to the Homeless Community – Vienna sausages, fruits/ apple sauce, crackers, juice, spoons, napkins, and bags. We are in need of most of these items.
AD Book
The AD Book Committee is continuing to receive your orders at this time. This commemorative booklet is being published in 2016 to coincide with our Founders Day Celebration scheduled for June 12th. If you have any questions please call Edward Wright (904.534.4760) or Arlene Jones (904.955.8639).
ICARE Investment Drive 2016
ICARE also needs our financial support for the training of staff and for maintenance. We would like for each parishioner to consider making a sacrificial donation towards the ongoing operation of ICARE. If you are unable to attend the Investment Drive Celebration scheduled for May 10th, then leave your donation with either Edward Wright or Thelma Hall.
Founders’ Day Plans
The Founders’ Day Committee is at work planning a special celebration on June 12th. Please reach out to former members, friends, families of our departed members and invite them. Let’s make this a spiritually reawakening service in honor of our history and in praise to a living God.
Memorial Service for Eleanor Hughes
The Memorial Service for Eleanor Hughes will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016. All of Jacksonville will have the opportunity to give thanks to God for the life, work, and witness of the late Eleanor Hughes. The service will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon. We have made special arrangements for additional parking.
RAP Sessions to at St. Phillip’s
We are back on schedule for Mondays from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Please bring children, grandchildren, or children of friends if you think they would benefit from additional academic support. ALL grade levels! Please also bring samples of your child’s work in a folder. Providing a few samples of your child’s classwork, homework, and assessments would allow tutors to analyze the work, and thus provide appropriate learning steps. We look forward to seeing you at our RAP sessions. For more information contact Terrye Mosley.
