My Father Sidney B. Parker Union of Black Episcopalians, and Episcopal Church families. As we approach September 13th, which has been designated as UBE Sunday, I would like to ask for your support. This Sunday we will collect donations that will go to our National Chapter to support our HBCU, Vorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina. This tradition
began when Bishop Curry asked as we celebrated Alexander Crummell, a pioneering African American minister, who served in England in the 1800’s to raise money for his church while lecturing about slavery. In our current state of crisis both health-wise and racial unrest. We have an obligation to support our young black children to assist them in continuing their educational experience. In honor of our deceased President, Linda Belton,
I ask that you give as the spirit leads you; Please take time to read her favorite reading.
God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world As it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right If I surrender to His Will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life And supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. Amen.
My God continue to bless and keep you all.
