The Wardens Meet with Bishop Howard

Tony Morrison and I met with Bishop Howard on Thursday. He agreed to give St. Philip’s a grant for one-third of the cost of replacing the church roof and an interest-free loan for one-third of the cost. St. Philip’s will have to come up with the remaining third. This means we can begin planning to begin work on the roof replacement within the next few weeks. The estimated cost to replace the roof is $50,000.00

Bishop Howard also agreed to provide letters of support for our efforts to obtain a grant to repair the stained glass windows.

Included in our discussion was the recommendation to continue our search for a rector. He also pledged the support of the Diocesan Office.
